Mass Effect 2 (PC) Review

Mass Effect 2 has officially been announced the first title of 2010 to pretty much go Gold during the first week of its launch period. So, lets get this review underway! So you just bought the game…you install it on your PC and you are pretty much up and ready to “Fight For The Lost”. You come to a pretty basic menu, you enter the game…..HOLY CRAP! If you gamers want a game with some high quality Graphics, you might want to definitely check this title out. Bioware has completely made these in-game graphics worth that wait before launch, Bioware has also done an extremely job well done with the shading and how light reflects off of objects and armor of you, your friends, and your enemies. Bioware can just pat each other on the back for graphics, that is a 5 out of 5!

Gameplay is something much more valuable to gamers than graphics (at least many of us think so) Comparing the original Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2, you get somewhat of a new gameplay feeling, but Bioware has included many new aspects involving the gameplay. You still have options to take cover, jump over objects, and all that other good stuff, but in-spite the new characters I do believe that Bioware has changed the tactics up a little, such as if you were a certain character and class, you will be able to just pick someone behind cover and just do whatever you wish (known as Biotic). Or you could be an engineer and just unleash the wrath of some sentry robots etc. and chase the enemies from there current positions so you and your squad can eliminate them as necessary. Yeah, there’s alot of  availabilities and tactics that Bioware has obviously put alot of work and effort into. Gameplay is almost just like the original but maybe just a bit better, so we give the gameplay a 4 out of 5.

So, moving toward the variety side of Mass Effect 2, variety is actually pretty big in the game. Everything from Weapons, Ammo, Ship Upgrades, Weapon Upgrades, and your choice of squad, your choice your choice you choice, basically everything is up to you in Mass Effect 2 giving you a much more variety than in many other RPGs. In Mass Effect 2 you can even purchase your Ship (Normandy) weapon upgrades and armor upgrades, this game is just plain out amazing in almost every way possible. Variety gets a nice 5 out of 5, so to sum things up a “little” Mass Effect 2 has our rating of a 9.5 out of a 10 for the PC. Since this is the PC review not only are requirements needed to give you the best experience, but I also have some recommendations that you should consider…in order for the high-res graphics, you need either the latest or a high-end graphics card (preferably NVIDIA) and you need a newer PC, if you have a white PC of any kind except for anything Apple….you need a new PC. Other than that you are set to go….Get Mass Effect 2 at a nice price over at GoGamer.com. GoGamer.com has this game brand new for ONLY $41.90! Yeah, that’s a great price for Mass Effect 2!
