It appears that Bioware has given GameInformer an inside scoop on if you can import your Mass Effect 2 character into Biowares upcoming Mass Effect 3. In certain circumstances while playing and getting to the end of Mass Effect 2, your player can die…now if your player dies, Bioware has made it clear that you will not be able to import your character into Mass Effect 3 because…well they want it to be realistic in my viewpoint. But if your Mass Effect 2 character does not die, then I do believe that you can import. Now the news was only covered for if your character does die, It never said anything about what happens if you stay alive. The official came from Producer Casey Hudson…and that is below:
“Dead is dead. Mass Effect 3, as with the rest of the trilogy, is Shepard’s story. If you have a dead Shepard at the end of Mass Effect 2, that saved game won’t import into Mass Effect 3. You can play Mass Effect 3 if you died in Mass Effect 2 of course, but you’ll have to create a new Shepard. Harsh? Yes. But we wouldn’t be serious about the concept of a suicide mission if you couldn’t die and your death didn’t have serious consequences.”
So that is that, the news is pretty disappointing I will have to admit…but at least it will give you longer gameplay…considering you will still have to earn all your Credits etc. all over again.
