Post Bands that no one but you has heard of

Do you guys listen to any bands that aren’t as popular as you think they should be? Post them up! Tell us about them; tell us what your favorite song from them is. Do it or I’ll write an angry letter to your local elementary school about your poor behavior.

I can’t enter a conversation about music without talking about Lordi or Poets of the Fall. For the most part, people in the United States have not heard of either of them. Lordi is basically an 80s rock band that’s only evolved in quality, but still has the same heart and soul as they did almost 25 years ago. It wasn’t until recently that they actually got a record label, at which point they won the award for some thingy at Eurovision for their song Hard Rock Hallelujah.

The other band that I mentioned, Poets of the Fall, is very different from Lordi. I don’t really know what genre to classify them as because they are constantly switching it up on me. This is not a bad thing though, as everything they put out sounds fresh and new. Their music is usually featured in games written by Sam Lake (Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, etc.).

Those are some wild costumes on Lordi. You know you’re doing something right when viewers can’t tell if it’s a painting of your group or an actual photo at first glance. I’ll definitely be checking them out later (can’t from work :( ) as well as the other group. My music taste is eclectic, so a group that constantly changes sounds right up my alley. I don’t have a group to suggest, but a singer – her name is Megan McCauley. She’s had a few songs on movie soundtracks, but she’s not exactly what I’d call famous. I love her album, Better Than Blood, though.

I’ll definitely look her up, thanks for the info.

Also, on August 3rd Lordi is revealing their new masks! Then in September they’re releasing their new album. It’s going to be really tough for them to top their last album (Deadache).

Ten Second Epic – I really want to say they are kind of like “The Offspring” but I am not sure if you can compare the two. I really do enjoy Ten Second Epic, and there music is something I hear a lot but there songs in general are kickass.

In a music industry engulfed in replication and mediocrity, SCALE THE SUMMIT has cemented their position as young mavericks (the quartet boasts an average age of 22) with their blend of organic and melodic instrumental music.

One of God’s own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Cornbugs were an American experimental metal band that formed in Texas in 1995. Comprising vocalist Bill “Choptop” Moseley, guitarist Buckethead, drummer Pinchface and keyboardist Travis Dickerson, the band released five albums, two DVDs, and three compilation albums before they split up in 2007.

I can go on for ever, really. Every genre of music :P . Music is my obsession.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
